Scholarship Opportunities : One Young World

Belfast is set to welcome One Young World to the the city in October. 

This is an annual summit which brings together over 2,000 young people (aged 18 - 30 years), from 190 countries and 250+ organisations to discuss global issues and explore actions for positive change.

The five main themes at this year’s summit are :

  • Climate Emergency
  • Education
  • Mental Health
  • Peace and Reconciliation
  • Food Crisis

Delegates engage in four transformative days of inspirational discussion, workshops and networking.  Throughout the Summit, participants will learn from influential political, business and humanitarian leaders including Sir Bob Geldof, Nobel Peace Laureates Prof Muhammad Yunus and President Santos, former President Mary Robinson, leading sports starts Didier Drogba, Rio Ferdinand, Francois Pienaar and human rights activists Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Kerry Kennedy.

Following the summit, delegates graduate as One Young World Ambassadors and will have gained the means and motivation to make a positive difference locally and beyond.

Ambassadors gain lifelong access to a Community of over 15,200 individuals, sparking both regional and international collaboration to promote impact and action. As a part of this Community, they have access to :

BCC Scholarships

The delegate fee is £3,150 but Belfast City Council is awarding 20 scholarship places for individual young people to attend the four day conference.
